With the sensitivity of a resonant transducer (nominal +58 dB [ref. 1V/µm] @ 150 kHz), and the flat with frequency response from 50 – 400 kHz, the B225 sensor is an ideal candidate for the MAE testing of relatively thick structures (e.g., thick walled high pressure vessels, A.O. Smith pressure vessels, thick laminated structures, etc.).  The B225’s outstanding sensitivity increases the probability of detection of lower energy fracture events, such as real crack growth in metallic structures.  The 3/8-32 UNEF threaded stainless steel case facilitates easy and repeatable coupling of the sensor to the test structure.  Suitable applications for the B225 sensor range from metallic fatigue test monitoring through MAE testing of composite overwrapped pressure vessels.
