At the heart of Digital Wave is the digital capture, technical study and implementation of high frequency sound waves. Our Ultrasonic Examination (UE) machines utilize an active process that injects and then digitally captures the reflected sound waves. Based on any indications found in the reflected wave, much can be determined about the subject being tested. Please look at our
Ultrasonic Examination page to learn how this process is implemented in the inspection of DOT cylinders.
Digital Wave also offers Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) testing, primarily focused on high-pressure gas vessels. MAE is a passive technology that listens for sound waves created in a vessel during loading. This technology is very similar to siesmology; just as an earthquake's location, magnitude and depth can be pinpointed form the other side of the earth, MAE does the same on a microscopic level. Please click on the MAE link to the left to learn more about this service.
