Digital Wave is proud to offer field inspection services, targeted at high-pressure gas vessels, utilizing our Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) testing equipment. MAE uses precision sensors to digitally capture the sound waves created from events during the pressurization of high pressure vessels - such as tube trailer tubes, AO Smith multi-layer vessels, single layer vessels, etc. Modal Acoustic Emission is distinguished from traditional Acoustic Emission technology by the digital capture of sound waves and their specific components. This technology provides a much more detailed test by analyzing the sound wave's extensional and flexural components, as well as their time event horizon captured by multiple sensors. These previously unknown wave characteristics allow MAE to negate "white noise" (sloughing of paint or scale, external noises, etc.) and only capture/analyze true critical events. The final test service concludes with a detailed report provided by our engineers and PhD's.
