Digital Wave has applied its years of acoustic emission experience to developing a line of transducers with the sensitivity and frequency response demanded by modal acoustic emission.

B1025 Sensor Series
The B1025 acoustic emission sensors are high fidelity, piezoelectric transducers. They are designed specifically for modal acoustic emission measurements over a frequency range of 50 kHz to 2 MHz. The B1025 sensors employ a low Q piezoelectric ceramic in a rugged package that is 0.365 inches in diameter by 0.500 inches in height with a Microdot connector.

Frequency bandwidth: 50kHz - 2MHz
Temperature range: -50°C to +100

Connector type: Microdot

Key Attributes: Broadband, flat response ideal for general purpose testing.  The B1025 is the most popular broadband acoustic emission transducer because it provides an ideal combination of size, sensitivity, and bandwidth.

Common applications: metal fatigue, aircraft inspection, modal acoustic emission composite materials, inspection of concrete, pressure vessel inspection

B1080 Sensor Series
The B1080 acoustic emission sensors are high fidelity, piezoelectric transducers. They are designed specifically for modal AE measurements over a frequency range of 50 kHz to 2 MHz. The B1080 sensors employ a low Q piezoelectric ceramic in a rugged package that is 0.20 inches in diameter by 0.36 inches in height . The B1080 comes with an attached 2 foot, shielded, low noise cable and can be used with Digital Wave’s external line driver and up to 125 feet of additional BNC cable.

Frequency bandwidth: 50kHz - 2MHz
Temperature range: -50°C to +100°C
Dimensions: 0.36" O.D. x 0.200" H
Connector type: BNC on attached 2-foot cable

B225 Sensor Series
The B225 acoustic emission sensors are high fidelity, piezoelectric transducers. The B225 is specifically designed to provide additional sensitivity at low frequencies. The B225 is useful when inspecting thick plates or highly attenuative specimens.

Frequency bandwidth: 30kHz - 300kHz
Temperature range: -50°C to +100
°C
Dimensions: 0.375" O.D. x 1.0" H
Connector type: Microdot

Common applications: inspection of concrete, inspection of metals with large grain structure, plate wave generation (generates and receives in the VLF-UT system), metallic and composite applications, metal pressure vessel inspection
