At Digital Wave, we go beyond simply counting acoustic emission events: our innovative technology records and displays the actual waveforms produced by those events. These methods have been applied to various types of materials evaluation: everything from steel and composites to pressure vessels.

Digital Wave has been manufacturing ultrasound equipment and testing systems since 1992 and lists among its many customers NASA, Boeing, Knoll Atomic Power Laboratory, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Los Alamos National Laboratory, numerous universities, and many private companies. We supported the foam impact testing on the Space Shuttle, hypervelocity impact testing for the Space Station, and we routinely perform inspections of the high-pressure air, ballast, and nitrogen flasks on Trident nuclear submarines.

Our founder, Dr. Michael Gorman, has been employed as a professor at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He has also worked as a professional engineer.

Digital Wave's acoustic emission equipment is used by research institutions such as the University of Oklahoma and Johns Hopkins University.
