Obligation
Ultrasonic testing of
Department of Transportation (DOT) cylinders requires a DOT special
permit
and a
RIN audit. Personnel must be certified by the American Society for
Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) per the exemptions, and
ASNT Level III-certified SRTs must oversee the process. Digital Wave
can provide
these services directly or provide information to contact qualified
personnel.
We
take the design and manufacture of our ultrasonic cylinder testing
equipment seriously - we know lives are
at stake. Digital Wave feels strongly that ultrasound has both cost and
safety
benefits for the cylinder industry, and we are working towards making
the
UE method regulatory. We are committed to following all federal rules
and regulations pertaining to the ultrasonic examination of DOT
cylinders and will report all failures
to meet exemption requirements immediately.
